The award-winning Publisher and Poetry Editor of Sensations Magazine (www.sensationsmag.com) completes his lifetime goal of sharing his poetry with audiences on six continents, with this feature reading at the Edna Fourie Gallery - part of the 2nd Annual McGregor Poetry Festival held in McGregor, South Africa. This feature reading showcased selected poems from David's eighth published poetry collection, the 324-page Historiopticon, available at www.blurb.com. In the background of these videoclips are artwork created by Edna Fourie - this reading of works from Historiopticon "interacted" with the artwork, creating a unique interactive merging of these very different artistic disciplines. Artist Edna Fourie has provided permission to Mr. Messineo to place these video clips with her artwork in the background - all filmed at the Edna Fourie Gallery in McGregor, South Africa on Friday October 24, 2014 - on YouTube for the enjoyment and education of future generations. This is poem 2 from the Historiopticon reading/debut in South Africa. Here, Mr. Messineo describes in detail what New York City (Nieuw Amsterdam) looked like in 1629.
