On Sunday April 19, 2015, David Messineo kicked off the 28th season of the Sensations Magazine Creative Events Series, among the 22 longest continually operating poetry reading series still active in America, per 2015 published research. The 3-hour reading offered a series of National Poetry Month feature slots to active Sensations Magazine subscribers, and an open mic portion for others, held at Sweet Tease Café & Bakery in Belmar, NJ, courtesy of owner Kate Heath. This was David's closing poem in his feature set. "The Closing of Time" was published in Sensations Magazine Issue 49, and also as a "preview from his next book" poem at the end of Historiopticon. David's ninth scheduled poetry collection, Trailblazer, will focus on individuals in American history who blazed trails for others, and enable David to explore some who were not subjects of poems in Historiopticon (Thomas Edison and Eleanor Roosevelt being two of those). David Messineo is among the 35 longest-serving poetry editors and literary magazine publishers still active in America, as of 2015 research. Historiopticon is available for purchase at www.blurb.com. Trailblazer, planned for the 2020s, will be the book tied into David's forthcoing Golden Anniversary Tour, celebrating 50 consecutive years of poetry writing, from age 9 to 59.
