Workers from the metallurgical sector erected barricades across an industrial estate in Cadiz, on Monday, the seventh day of an ongoing strike in the sector.

Riot police engaged in street skirmishes with protesters and workers as tensions continue to mount.

Approximately 30,000 employees of the metal sector in Cadiz began an indefinite strike last Tuesday demanding a wage increase and improvements to their working conditions.
