Germany: Thousands of healthcare workers march in Berlin as hospital strike enters 6th day

Thousands of healthcare workers joined another day of strike action organised by the union Verdi at the Vivantes and Charite hospitals in Berlin, on Tuesday.

After a rally near Charite Mitte, the crowds marched along Wilhelmstrasse, Unter den Linden and reached the Rotes Rathaus. Health workers and employees were demanding better working conditions and wages on the sixth day of action promoted by the union, which reportedly brought the number of beds that can’t be used to 1,200.
According to the union, the strike would not affect the treatment of emergencies and strikers were willing to temporarily resume their work in case of necessity.​
