Joint Russia-Belarus drills ‘Zapad-2021’ continued at a military training ground in the Smolensk region, as the Russian Defense Ministry announced on Sunday.

On the second day of exercises more than 20 bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces and Belarus Air Force practised air raids.

The training events were attended by the Russian Aerospace Forces crews of the Tu-22M3 and the Su-34 bombers.
“The event was attended by both young and experienced crews. All planes returned to the airfield, everything went in normal mode”, commented senior lieutenant Alexander Vasin.

War games ‘Zapad-2021’ of the Russian and Belarus armed forces are being held on September 10-16 at nine training grounds in both countries. More than 800 pieces of equipment and nearly 200 thousand personnel are set to take part in the joint exercises.

The personnel prepared the aviation equipment and weapons well. The task of using aerial bombs at the range for specified targets, which were located at the range, was completed.
