Georgia: Joint NATO drills conclude at Orfolo training ground

The final day of joint NATO-Georgia military exercises Agile Spirit 2021 took place at the Orfolo training ground near Akhaltsikhe on Friday.

The drills came to an end with the troops practising demonstrative manoeuvres on special helicopters and tanks.

The closing ceremony took place in Vaziani, where Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, President Salome Zourabichvili and other officials addressed the participants of the event.

The joint military exercises involved around 1,600 Georgian and 700 American soldiers, as well as 250 military personnel from 13 NATO member and partner countries.

The Agile Spirit drills have been held annually since 2011, and this year took place from July 26 to August 6.
