Russia: Indian, Russian forces lead military drill with rocket and bomb strikes in Volgograd region

Armed forces of Russia and India practised missile and bomb strikes as part of the active phase of the Indra-2021 exercises on Tuesday, at the Prudboy training ground in the Volgograd region.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, during the exercise, the crews of Su-24M front-line bombers and Ka-52 Alligator helicopters launched missile and bomb strikes at the command posts of mock terrorists.
In addition, the crews of the Tornado-G multiple launch rocket systems and the Solntsepek heavy flamethrower systems destroyed area targets and a column of enemy equipment, and tankers on T-90A tanks and motorised riflemen on the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles cleared the enemy’s area.

The Indian forces suppressed the resistance of the mock enemy with fire from the RPG-7 and AGS-17, after that the tactical airborne assault together with the special forces carried out a sweep of the settlement.

The joint exercises Indra-2021 are taking place on August 1-13. In total, 250 servicemen, tank and artillery units, a reconnaissance company of the Southern Military District, stationed in the Volgograd region, and a tactical group of the Indian Armed Forces are involved in the event.
