Most people turn their leg and grip with the large leg muscles at the back. The more you tense the more you go to the back of the saddle. You want to sit in the middle of the saddle, nice and relaxed and completely centred and deep in the saddle. Your toe needs to be parallel to the horses body. Your knee needs to be off, and use the tiny muscles in your upper groin to hold yourself in the saddle.
