Tanfield Railway - The Worlds Oldest Railway.13 10 2013

Visiting family I had a couple of hours to spare on Sunday to visit this railway . It only runs on a Sunday but runs all year round .Its located . On land between Gateshead and Chester-Le-Street there were no buses so it was walking time in misty rain.So I happily filmed what I could before it was time for me to leave . I walked round the shed and yard . It looks like its in a very nice looking part of the country . With mining history all around . Stories of waggons being hauled up wooden tracks by horses , and the first flanged wheel .
