Super-Cyclone Amphan has struck eastern India and Bangladesh, bringing major destruction to cities and killing at least 15 people.

The evacuation of millions of people was made more complicated by the coronavirus pandemic, as social distancing measures became impossible to respect in rescue shelters.

Amphan is the most powerful storm to hit the region since 1999, with winds of up to 170 kilometres per hour.
