Maut Raid Guide - Normal/Heroic Maut Ny'alotha Boss Guide

Maut Normal and Maut Heroic guide! Maut is a raid boss in the Ny'alotha raid of BfA. This Maut boss guide will show you the Maut abilities that you'll see in the Normal, Heroic and LFR versions of the Maut fight. Mythic Maut has additional mechanics not shown in this Normal and Heroic Maut guide. Footage of Maut for this boss guide is from PTR raid testing and some mechanics may look different or change when the Ny'alotha raid releases on live servers starting January 21st. The key to Maut in Phase One is preventing him from gaining mana by correctly managing mechanics. The slower Maut gains mana, the fewer Phase Twos you'll need to deal with. Tanks will have a stacking debuff in Shadow Wounds from Shadow Claw, swap on two stacks. Players with Devour Magic need to run a short ways away from the group to drop the Devoured Abyss pools. Stay near but not in those pools. At the very end of Maut's Stygian Annihilation cast, step into the pool to be immune to the big hit. Run away from the Dark Manifestation voids and the offtank should pick up the Dark Manifestation add. DPS should swap to it to kill it as quickly as possible, helping with Mana Burn abilities where applicable. When the Dark Manifestation add casts Dark Offering, the offtank needs to drag it into a pool to kick it. After Maut's mana bar eventually fills, he'll enter Phase Two. Stack for healing and burn through his mana shield to return to Phase One. Damage will reflect, so healers may need to rotate cooldowns to keep DPS aggressive. Forbidden Ritual orbs will make their way in towards the boss and need to be soaked ASAP by mobile ranged like hunters or mages. The soaking players should then return to the stack to share their Forbidden Mana with the group. On Heroic, Maut gains one new mechanic per phase. Black Wings is a randomly aimed frontal cone with a knockback, move to the side once Maut takes aim. In Phase Two, Heroic Maut will put out Drain Essence. Players with Drain Essence on Heroic Maut should run out of the stack and get dispelled.
