The Israeli army said its latest attack Tuesday (16/4) on the Beirut suburbs hit a Hezbollah "regional headquarters" and was in retaliation for ongoing Hezbollah rocket attacks on northern Israel. Israeli warplanes raided areas near Beirut airport as a European troika delegation was arriving to discuss possible aid for refugees. Meanwhile, Israeli gunners continued to shell areas east of the port city of Tyre, and the Lebanese army fired back with anti aircraft guns.
