These 4 wrist stretches and 4 wrist strengthening exercises are the basics for having the pre-requisite wrist strength and mobility to do a handstand. Due to the fact that the wrist is made up of 8 small bones which are not meant to support our full body weight, proper wrist preparation is needed before attempting the handstand. The 4 wrist stretches are: 1) Fingers Facing Backward (palm down) 2) Fingers Facing Backward (palm up) 3) Fingers Facing Forward (palm down) 4) Inward Rotated Wrists (palm down) The 4 wrist strengthening exercises are: 1) Kunckle Ups 2) Back Wrist Press 3) Fist Rocks 4) Finger Press Wrist Workout / Warm up for Handstands: 1) Do the wrist stretches for 1 set each, 10 reps 2) Do each wrist strengthening exercises for 5-20 reps each, in a circuit style ( one after another). Do up to 4 sets total. Use more reps if you're doing easier progressions (wall, individual wrist movements) Use less reps when doing the movement from a push up position. Also, if you want to build bigger wrists because you have small wrists for bodybuilding, these exercises may help.
