In this cooking technique video I show you how to sear a scallop that Gordon Ramsey would be proud of. While I know that scallop recipes can be a bit intimidating to some, cooking the scallops themselves are quite easy - once you know how.
The big concern is generally overcooking the scallop, as it will quickly get very tough and rubbery. Cooking the perfect scallop requires a bit of a "less is more" approach, where you use a nice hot pan, handle the scallop very little, and just flip them once. You end up with a scallop with a nice crispy top and bottom, and a perfectly cooked center.
