Germany: Coalition talks 'correct direction' for SPD - Schulz

Leader of Germany's Social Democratic Party (SPD) Martin Schulz stated that embarking on new coalition talks is the "correct" direction the SPD has to take, speaking from the party's headquarters in Berlin on Monday. "Bringing the party in a direction that keeps the country stable, [as well as] makes European reforms possible and, at the same time, enforces a maximum of the SPD programme, is a direction which is worth to be explored," Schulz said. "Which option [of government participation] we will choose, we don't know yet, but I believe taking this direction is correct," he added.
