Germany: Merkel welcomes SPD decision for coalition talks during CSU convention

German Chancellor Angela Merkel gave a speech at the Christian Social Union party convention in Nuremberg on Friday afternoon, during which she welcomed the Social Democratic Party's decision to start exploratory coalition talks. Merkel urged fast clarification from the SPD in order to form a stable government, and for a government with more sincerity in regards to Alternative fur Deutschland, which she claimed was not aiming to be constructive but rather populist.
