The focus of the project was the development of an international aviation hub in the premises of Nicosia International Airport, which remains closed since the invasion in 1974. The students were asked to research, analyse and design a modern aviation hub, focussing on planning (spatial use and transport), building facilities and business model for a viable investment. The students were also asked to revive and integrate the existing terminal building in their proposal as a memorial site.
