(29 Sep 2019) A Chinese trade delegation is heading to Washington at mid-October to resume trade talks with the US, according to Chinese deputy minister of commerce.
Wang Shouwen told reporters at a press conference on Sunday that Chinese Vice Premier Liu He will represent the delegation for the 13 round trade talks "at the week after Chinese National Holiday".
The two governments have raised tariffs on billions of dollars of each other's goods.
That has battered farmers and manufacturers on both sides and fueled fears the global economy, which already is showing signs of cooling, might tip into recession.
Negotiations between Washington and Beijing broke down in May over how to enforce any deal.
