More than 100 firefighters are battling a raging fire, described as the biggest in Terengganu for years, that has destroyed two huge crude oil tanks and spread to a third, 16 hours after it started at the Kemaman Bitumen Company (KBC).
Four people were injured in the blaze at the KBC in the Teluk Kalong Industrial Area, according to Terengganu Fire and Rescue Department director Azlimin Mat Noor.
He said the fire broke out at three oil tanks containing about 20,059 litres of oil. There are five tanks at the facility.
“The first tank contained 4,800 litres of oil, the second 1,580 litres and the third 13,679 litres.
