The Cocos Fire broke out along Cocos Drive about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to Cal Fire. As of early Thursday, at least 36 structures were destroyed and one business was damaged by the 2,000 acre fire. Cal Fire officials said Thursday that the Cocos Fire is their No.1 priority. Several CH-46 Sea Knight and MH-53 Sea Dragon helicopters from Camp Pendleton were deployed to the San Marcos area and were making water drops. The fire is 100% percent contained as of 5/22/2014.
