Hong Kong authorities put a second building of a public housing estate in Tsuen Wan’s Kwai Chung district, into a five-day lockdown on Saturday, after at least 10 additional positive COVID cases were detected in the residential block.

The outbreak in the estate has now jumped to over 100 cases, some of them of the new Omicron variant.

Residents are not allowed to leave their flats until Wednesday.

The first building was locked down on Friday. Other blocks of the Kwai Chung Estate may soon follow, as authorities ordered all the 35.000 people living in the residential complex to be tested.
