"Worlds Apart" and "The Effervescent Ballroom" (Frank Gulino) - Andrew Blake, Bass Trombone

I chose to perform "Worlds Apart" and "The Effervescent Ballroom" (Frank Gulino, b. 1987) as a pair on my recital. "Worlds Apart" was composed for either tenor or bass trombone and piano, while "The Effervescent Ballroom" was composed for tuba and piano. I had heard the latter work a few years ago, and enjoyed it enough to program it on a bass trombone recital.
