White House does an about-face on Syria-related Russia sanctions

Over the weekend, US ambassador to the United Nations promised sanctions on Russia for backing the Syrian government. Now, the White House is saying Nikki Haley's words were a “misstatement” and the Treasury Department will not place further sanctions on the Russian government just yet.
