Thousands Witness Rathotsava at Suttur Jathra Mahotsava | Suttur Jatra Mahotsava 2020

Thousands of devotees witnessed the Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogigala Maharathotsava organised as part of Suttur Jathra Mahotsava at Suttur Srikshetra in Nanjangud taluk this morning. They celebrated the car festival (rathotsava) in religious fervour and grandeur, by pulling the old and new chariots which were accompanied by folk and cultural troupes. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and various pontiffs graced the occasion. A large number of devotees from across the State including from Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar districts flocked the Suttur village, the venue of the Jathra Mahotsava to take part in the rathotsava which had a history of thousands of years. Six day Annual Suttur Jathra Mahotsava Begins. Suttur Jathre 2020. Suttur Jathra Mahotsava 2020 The six-day event is organised every year by Suttur Mutt to commemorate the birth anniversary of Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Swamiji, who founded the Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Mutt at Suttur Srikshetra ten centuries ago.
