Preheat the material in a convection or heating platen oven to 165 °C / 330 °F. For thermoplastics, one should observe to the exact material properties information supplied by the manufacturer. Reference values for temperatures: PMMA 150-170 °C, PC 190-210 °C and PETG 130-170 °C. If the material has reached the necessary temperature, the now pliable material can be thermoformed with a vacuum membrane press or hydraulic press. For this purpose, the heated material is removed from the oven and placed on the mould. Subsequently, the material is pressed under vacuum or hydraulic pressure into the desired shape. The remarkable part of this is, after cooling it is solid again and retains the strength of a flat piece of solid surface but in the new form.
