Andrew was awarded both the 5th prize and the inaugural Terence Judd-Hallé Orchestra prize at the 2012 Leeds International Piano Competition. The orchestra prize was awarded by members of the Hallé and music director, Sir Mark Elder. We caught up with Andrew when he returned to perform Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Hallé on 17 October 2013.
