Welcome to a special episode of our new series The Bento Show! In this episode, Ryan and Scott from Bento&co check out float building for the main event of the Gion Festival. The Gion Festival (Gion Matsuri), the most famous festival in Japan, takes place every year in Kyoto during the month of July. The main event is the Yamaboko Junko, a grand procession of 23 ancient 'yama' and 'hoko' floats that are pulled and carried around three kilometers of central Kyoto.
