Quick video I made of a day trip to the North Georgia Mountains. Springer Mountain offers beautiful sunsets year round. Its an easy 1 mile hike from the trail head to the summit where the Appalachian Trail begins.
**I advise a 4-wheel drive car/truck to make the trip up forest service road 77. aka The Winding Stairs. The grade is steep and the road is rutted. I would come in from Doublehead Gap Road, where is the climb to the parking lot is a longer and and easier on your car.
