Spectacular Fireworks Display Over Moscow Marks Victory Day in Russia

A huge fireworks display in Moscow marked the 75th anniversary of Russia’s victory in World War Two.

But this year’s Victory Day celebrations were not as spectacular as initially planned. Russia’s coronavirus outbreak is yet to reach its peak with 210,000 cases recorded so far.

Instead of a massive military parade on Red Square, Vladimir Putin reviewed the Presidential Regiment in front of the Kremlin.

Local residents under lockdown appeared at their windows to watch the fireworks.
