Spain: Anti-independence protesters block Catalan police vehicle amid demo in Barcelona

Around 200 protesters took to the streets of Barcelona's Sarria neighbourhood with Spanish flags on Friday, to denounce the Catalan legislators' vote in favour of declaring independence from Spain earlier in the day. The vote came just before the Spanish national Senate voted in favour of invoking Article 155. The measure was activated by Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy on Saturday, and would allow Madrid to establish de facto direct rule over Catalonia.
