In this video I sample my Fender Precision Bass (50's Reissue), plugging it directly into the Roland SP-404A's Mic In. My note choice is not a scale or just chromatic (although that is definitely a good option), rather I'm thinking what sort of notes I would use as a bass player in A minor. There's a little blues scale, minor scale and chromaticism in there I've selected from if you want to analyse it but I'm not thinking that hard about it. It's just notes I think are fun to jam on. Layout-wise, I put the root note (my main low A note) on pad 5 so I can have 4 lower notes on the pads below it and then higher notes above it. I also like using the on board effects like the Isolator and Filter + Drive.
