Revise with me! In this video ETETutor defines 'Onomatopoeia' and analyses an example.
This subject terminology is very important as it applies to both GCSE English Literature and GCSE English Language. When analysing non-fiction, fiction, literary texts and poetry you'll need to explain why onomatopoeia has been used and what impact it has on the reader. When completing your 'Transactional' and 'Creative/Imaginative' writing tasks you may want to use alliteration.
Good luck with your studies!
