Residents of Nyabigege in South Mugirango, Kisii County, protested over insecurity in the area. The residents lit bonfires on Kisii-Migori highway paralysing traffic for several hours. The demonstration follows the killing of two men guarding a garage in the area on May 31, 2018. The two were shot dead by gangsters suspected to be police officers. Former area councillor Duke Gwaro who led the protests called for an overhaul of the Administration Police camp at Nyachenge, accusing the officers there of complicity in the gruesome murder. An AP officer’s jacket and a regular policeman’s cap were recovered at the scene of the crime. Mr Gwaro said this pointed to possible suspects and urged Interior CS Fred Matiang'i to have investigations hastened. Watch more NTV Kenya videos at ntv.co.ke and nation.co.ke.
