Ray Chen in the first round of the Senior division of the Menuhin Competition Cardiff 2008. At the time, Ray Chen was 19 years old and it was the second time for him to take part in the Menuhin Competition. He had won 3rd Prize in the Junior section in London in 2004 and returned in 2008 to take the 1st Prize in the Senior section.
His career has taken off since then. After winning the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2009, he was shortly after signed by CAMI and Sony Records. He is now one of the leading violin soloists of his generation.
