Seven years ago... Tell us if he has changed.
Ray Chen's performance of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor (the end unfortunately missing on our master tape). He's playing with Sinfonia Cymru, conducted by Garreth Jones. With this performance, aged only 19, he won 1st Prize at the Menuhin Competition and went on to win the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2009.
Since then his career has taken off and he was signed by CAMI and Sony Records. His debut record with Sony, "Virtuoso" has won him the Echo Classics Award. Ray came back to the Menuhin Competition two years later, to play at the Opening Concert in Oslo in April 2010, and then returned for the Competition in London 2016 as our youngest ever juror.
