Pohoiki black sand beach big island Hawai'i

Pohoiki is the newest black sand beach. It was created by the 2018 Leilani lava flow. The sand that was created continues to fill in a once surfable bay where boats were launched to fish the verdant waters of Hawai'i island's south east coast.
