A survivor of the plane crash in Pakistan, Muhammad Zubair, described the terrifying ordeal to reporters by saying all he could see “was fire”.

A Pakistan International’s Airlines jet crashed into a residential area of Karachi shortly after take-off on May 22.

Health officials in Sindh province have confirmed 97 deaths but cannot confirm at this stage how many of the dead were passengers and how many were residents living in the area.

Nineteen of the dead have been identified.

The cause of the crash is still unknown and under investigation by aviation authorities.
