Overview of the Zeiss Loxia 50mm f/2 Lens on the Sony A7II

The Loxia 50mm f/2 is a lens I have dreamed of since it was unveiled. The problem with this is that it was EXTREMELY difficult to find anywhere, and at the time I did not yet have the Sony A7II. Well times have changed and I finally have the privilege of owning this great manual focus Zeiss prime.
The Loxia line of lenses has been designed specifically for the Sony Alpha full-frame lineup of cameras. It is manual focus only, however it does have full access to lens data (EXIF) which makes things a whole lot easier when you get to your computer for edits.
To be honest, I am not all that worried with it being manual focus only, after all I could have chosen the Sony/Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 if I decided to. I have grown to appreciate focusing manually, though in certain situations autofocus would be much appreciated. But the types of photos that would require autofocus are not going to be on my list of things to shoot with the Loxia, so no harm no foul.
Be sure to check back in the near future, as I will be doing a full review complete with image samples on this lens when I have had some time to use it extensively. Until then, check out my blog below for a few preliminary image samples, and subscribe to my channel for the full review!
