Mystery Pocket Watch Movement

Mystery Pocket Watch, c. 1880, Armand Schwob & Frere. Stem-wind watch with brass movement mounted near winding stem and engraved on reverse with SN#2495. Movement includes glass disks that are mounted behind transparent "mystery" dial and are connected directly to hands. Watch gears rotate the disks, causing the hands to move. Back dust cover is engraved inside with SN#2790 and outside with "A.S.O.F., Mysterieuse, Brevette S.G.D.G." Front dust cover has floral patterns but no inscriptions. Watch is mounted in silver case with hinged and open-faced front and back covers.
