Missile attack on Syria was ‘a proportional response’ – Pentagon

Less than 24 hours after the US struck Syria, the Pentagon is abuzz with briefings and strategizing. US officials are looking into whether Russia participated in the reported chemical attack in Idlib, Syria which precipitated the US missile attack on Syria’s air base. Officials seek the removal of all chemical weapons from Syria as per international agreements. Syrian sources claim more than a dozen people were killed in the US strike. Russia has said it intends to close the "deconfliction hotline" with which the US and Russia could communicate their military operations in Syrian airspace.
