The 15 contestants, with sizes allegedly ranging between 100 and 125 centimetres, performed on stage in dazzling costumes for the top prize. After a fierce competition, Ellen Santana, the representative of the Brazilian Rondonia state, won the title of national Miss Bum Bum. Santana's victory was momentarily marred when a rival contestant reportedly tried to rip the winner's ribbon out of her arms for allegedly having used plastic surgery.
