Mighty Sparrow "LIVE" - *Model Nation*

Despite sounding not the very best of HI FI, this calypso heard as a "live" broadcast (50 years ago) is well worth the listen. None of those later studio versions give "old timers" - like me, the chance to imagine the young 27 year old Sparrow on stage performing against 9 other finalists all hoping to be voted Independence Calypso King - 1962. Sparrow, although already holding the crown as Carnival Calypso King - 1962 won at the earlier in the year competition, his entry in this case *Model Nation* was to be beaten into 2nd place by Lord Brynner`s - *Independence Calypso*.
