The episode showed the 38-year-old woman wearing white and black underwear in a photo shoot where she sits on a sofa. This was not the first time that Shannon posed in lingerie. A trailer for the second season released in December showed her posing in red and white lingerie, which caused an uproar on the web. Shannon, who rose to fame as Alan's mother, "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, won the WETV series after losing 300 pounds. But in the second season, the series explores her struggle to maintain the weight, even as she and her daughter plan a return to the world pageant. Thompson convinced his mother to sign up for a mother-daughter contest. "I've gained a few pounds," Shannon admitted in a preview published last month. "I'm punishing myself because I know that in the last three or four months I've won, like seven pounds," said Shannon, who once weighed 460 pounds, to Us Weekly in January. "It will not come out." Thompson told Us Weekly that her mother is a "fan of scale". Since the second season of Not to Hot also focuses on the daughter of Shannon, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon and Josh, who are married, while Shannon's relationship with Geno Doak continues to flourish. In a season two preview, Shannon told Doak that she wanted to "marry you right now" in the middle of Pumpkin's wedding. "Geno is the one, and I'll put a ring on him," Shannon told her sister Joanne in the From Not to Hot episode, the Daily Mail reports. But in another scene, Doak is seen telling Josh: "I will never get married again."
