Update: I am changing the specified transistor from the 2N2222 class to a 2N3055 power transistor. You don't need the socket now. This transistor increases power available and is easier to install. Or you can change the transistor after you have tried the 2N2222 - the wiring is the same.

Note that the primary and secondary coils are wound in opposite directions.
In part 3 we will look at adjustments, amp draw, and comparison to a similar output incandescent lamp. Also we will look at the amp draw of this CFL on a 12/120 volt inverter.
