All shoulder blades need to go up, go down, and go up and rotate in order to lift your arm over your head. Doing this very simple arm circle exercise is one way to address this rotational component of the shoulder area. Overhead motions sometime scare people because the head of the humerus is not gliding down into pocket of the collarbone and the blade itself. Address this missing motion and start to heal the overhead lift or push!
