Korea's top five department stores see sales spike 24% on 'Korea Sale Festa'

The trade ministry says the nation's top five department store chains posted sales up 24 percent for the first day of the "Korea Sale Festa" event,... compared with the first day of "Korea Black Friday," which was held this time last year. This year's festival aims to squeeze the most out of Korea's tourism and cultural sectors in line with the Chinese holiday season,... which is expected to bring in close to a quarter-of-a-million Chinese tourists. Around 250 retailers, manufacturers and online malls are providing hefty discounts and promotions at tens of thousands of stores across Korea.
