A robot dog developed by engineering firm Boston Dynamics can help farmers carry out a number of agricultural tasks.

During a demonstration in New Zealand, the droid was controlled remotely to herd a flock of sheep.

The robot called Spot is equipped with software by technology company Rocos, which is ‘training’ it for farming work to help “relieve the strain of worker shortages, and create precision in farming.”
