HOW TO FIX YOUR APPLE TV WHEN THE REMOTE DOES NOT WORK

The internet had gone down for a few hours and when it came back on our Apple Tv (2nd gen) was not responding to the remote. We must have inadvertently unpaired the remote. When we pushed a button the light on the front of the Apple Tv would flash 3 times but nothing would happen. I simply held down the "menu" button and the "left" button for 5 seconds and it worked.
