I need your help with Hotpoint dishwasher error codes.
Is that because you can’t find the manual or can’t find service for it?
Both cases are true. The cheap European brand is turning out to be an expensive lemon, since it is cheaper to buy a new one than send it somewhere for service.
F01 is the error code for an anti-flooding overflow.
I only have the flashing lights.
The anti-flooding controls mean the LED 1 flashes but the others other three are off.
If I had a leak that triggered that, the water spilling on the floor would be sufficient notice.
The F02 error code is when the second LED flashes. That means the water fill solenoid valve failed.
If that valve failed, I’d know it because the thing didn’t fill with water though it tried.
The valve solenoid controls it, but really bad mineral build up could keep the valve stuck shut.
If the mineral build up was that bad, I’d have to have been pouring in cups of rinse aid each load.
The F03 error code means the first and second LED lights on while three and four are off. That is the error code for the water drain failing or timing out.
How does a drain time out?
The dishwasher expects it to drain in a minute once the drain valve is open, but it is draining much more slowly due to all the food residue caked over the drain cover or clogging the drain hose.
I could at least see if that was the problem, though hopefully not after scooping out layers of dirty water and slimy gunk.
Error code F04 is a thermostat fault, and the error is indicated by the third LED being lit.
I’ve heard the thermostat could malfunction and need to be replaced.
If you had a lot of hard water residue build up on it or food residue, you may also need to clean it.
I’ve never thought of cleaning the dishwasher as a tech support solution.
If you have the F06 error shown by the second and third LEDs being lit up, the water fill is timing out.
I’ve paid the water bill. And no one turned off water to the kitchen due to a leak.
This can happen because there is a water leak, but also if the water pressure is too low.
It isn’t showing up in the middle of a mass bathroom break during the half time show. And no one has reported broken water pipes down the street that prevent me from getting enough water pressure.
If you have a clog in the water softener or water filter that filters water going to the dishwasher, the water pressure may be too low.
The only water filter is on the water tap itself, so I don’t have an erroring dishwasher because I haven’t replaced an up flow water filter.
F07 is the error code for the water turbine malfunctioning. All the LEDs are on except the fourth in that case.
One more light, and the solution is rebooting it.
Actually, that’s the fix for a software error with the first and fourth LED lights lit up.
