HobbyKing Katana 50ep Maiden Flight May 27th 2013

Hot damn!!! This is one nice airplane. 59'' of fun. She came in at 6lbs 8oz. with 992sq/in of wing and 5.8 cube loading. The set up: Turnigy 4250 270kv motor, Turnigy Trust 70amp sbec, Zippy Compact 5S 3700mah battery & a 15x8 prop. Spent lots of time putting her together making sure everything was right. It paid off. Not one click of adjustment, she was dead on. Although even with going the extra mile and adding magnets I couldn't keep the canopy on. I'll figure something out. She flies really floaty but with a rock solid heavy feel, if that makes sense. Once the adrenaline is gone and I can actually think and see while I'm flying I will put her through some heavier paces. I know she can handle just about anything. I'm impressed with the quality of this plane. HobbyKing seems to put out some really nice planes from what I've seen and heard. The landing was great...flew her right to the ground, even tho I was rattled a bit from the canopy ejecting, light to the touch. I dig it!
